Canceled Again! No Maple Syrup Festival In 2021

The Annual Beaver County Maple Syrup Festival has been canceled this year, the third year in a row for the community event.

Commissioner Jack Manning announced the cancelation at the Board’s public work session today.

Featuring locally made syrup, pancakes, vendors, and live entertainment, the Maple Syrup Festival has been a popular draw in the county for more than four decades.

The Beaver County Conservation District sponsored the festival until 2019, when controversies plaguing the organization led it to surrender the event. The nonprofit PUSH Beaver County vowed to continue the tradition, but was forced to abandon its plans for 2020 due to the COVID pandemic.

Uncertainties surrounding a rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine led organizers to also cancel the 2021 festival, which was to take place in April.

Led by businessman Mark Kopsack, who also operates a nursing home in Rochester, PUSH receives donations of taxpayer funds from the Beaver County Board of Commissioners to help finance its various events in the county, including an annual Fourth of July fireworks show.
